We're in our 17th year of helping clients save their homes and getting a fresh start. Last night we had two last minute emergency chapter 13 bankruptcies to stop the sale of their homes today and tomorrow. We finished one at 9:10pm and the other sometime after 11. Ordinarily we wouldn't subject our team to that kind of stress, but in both these cases the clients had tried unsuccessfully to fight their foreclosure actions in state court.
This morning there is some extra coffee being consumed, but both those clients now have stopped the sale of their property and we will work to save their homes using the wide reaching powers of the bankruptcy statutes.
Meanwhile, another bankruptcy client just received their discharge (that's the point where your debts are officially eliminated). They stopped by the Kendall office today with some thank you goodies...
